Our company, a leader in the development and design of complex military infrastructure for expeditionary forces, is seeking a Senior Engineering Director to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will have the opportunity to work closely with various departments, including Product Lifecycle Management, field support, production, quality, manufacturing engineering, and advanced design teams.
The Director of Engineering will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of product and manufacturing engineering at both our Huntsville and Spokane production sites. This includes leading technical engineering teams through the full life cycle of military shelter systems, trailers, command and control products, and fabric accessories. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader who can drive technical performance to new heights while collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders to maximize value-add across the business.
Primary duties of this role include driving execution of engineering teams involved in developing and supporting various products such as soft wall shelters and power generation systems. Additionally, the Senior Engineering Director will provide support for sales and business development efforts by contributing to basis of estimate (BOE) on bids and proposals. Collaboration with internal customers such as Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain will be crucial to ensure alignment with overall company strategy.
To qualify for this position, candidates must have at least 10 years of experience in technical management roles along with a BS in Engineering from an accredited school. An MS in Engineering or an MBA is preferred. The successful candidate should possess expertise in areas such as Technical textiles used in military shelters, welding techniques for technical fabrics, knowledge of military specifications (MIL-SPEC), SolidWorks software proficiency among others. A strong quality orientation coupled with excellent communication skills is essential for this role.
