Efficiency Manitoba, a provincial Crown corporation dedicated to reducing electricity and natural gas consumption in homes, businesses, and communities across the province, is seeking a Communications & Public Relations Specialist. The Communications & Public Relations Specialist will be an integral part of the Communications and Customer Experience team, collaborating with project teams to develop and implement communication strategies that enhance brand recognition and maintain a positive public image for Efficiency Manitoba. Responsibilities include developing communications plans, media relations strategies, preparing external communications such as news releases and media kits, maintaining relationships with media personnel in Manitoba, acting as a spokesperson for the organization, coordinating media partnerships, participating in media interviews for TV and radio segments, engaging with local media on energy efficiency topics, and pitching stories to outlets.
Qualifications for this position include post-secondary education with a focus on marketing, communications or public relations; 3+ years of related experience; familiarity with energy efficiency marketing and Demand Side Management; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and Google Analytics; as well as a strong commitment to customer service and energy conservation. The ideal candidate will be proactive in managing their duties while also being able to adapt to additional responsibilities as required by Efficiency Manitoba.
