As the Director of Data Center Electrical Design & Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our global strategies and standards to elevate our data center program to new heights. Your expertise in data center systems will enable you to develop integrated and efficient solutions while effectively managing competing priorities to achieve our program objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of electrical design strategies for our global hyperscale data center program, focusing on substations, site/facility power distribution, and backup power systems.
- Spearhead the global electrical design roadmap by evaluating emerging technologies that align with customer needs and business objectives.
- Provide leadership to regional teams implementing electrical design strategies across various global locations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to establish design criteria and budget strategies that meet customer requirements.
- Conduct technical reviews for site selection, coordinating substation design and utility power distribution.
- Support the evaluation of global equipment vendors and consultant teams.
- Interface directly with customers to understand their requirements and develop tailored solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in electrical design/engineering for data center infrastructure.
- Professional Engineering license.
- Expert knowledge of electrical design, HV utility substations, MV/LV power distribution, UPS, and backup power systems.
- In-depth understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Experience with electrical safety procedures and SCCAF studies.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
