As the Vice President of Engineering at Terrasmart, you will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing our Engineering Division to drive sustained market growth and uphold our position as a national leader in the solar industry. This key position involves fostering strong relationships with Sales, Construction teams, and external customers to ensure continuous value-driven growth within the division. The VP of Engineering will provide strategic and tactical leadership by establishing departmental goals, objectives, plans, and policies while also managing the division’s P&L and financial performance.

Key responsibilities for this role include leading engineering teams in product development and R&D for solar solutions, collaborating on financial planning with accounting and finance teams to manage P&L effectively, developing growth initiatives aligned with short- and long-term sales projections, overseeing SIOP planning to balance safety, speed, cost, and quality factors. Additionally, you will be tasked with building and mentoring a high-performance engineering team under a shared vision while driving continuous improvement efforts to optimize manufacturing processes. Ensuring compliance with safety standards along with regulatory requirements will also be part of your responsibilities.

To qualify for this position at Terrasmart as the VP of Engineering candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Structural preferred), have 10+ years of experience in product engineering/R&D including 5+ years leading engineering teams specifically within Solar Ground Mount racking systems for at least 3 years. Skills required include strong leadership abilities coupled with strategic thinking skills alongside technical proficiency using tools like CAD software; experience with Epicor ERP system & Salesforce CRM would be an added advantage. Possession of P.E. certification is preferred but not mandatory.
