As the Director of Mechanical Engineering, you will play a crucial role in leading the Mechanical Building Systems department. Serving as the Subject Matter Expert for Mechanical Building Systems, you will meet with clients to understand their requirements and develop efficient mechanical systems to meet those needs. You will supervise mechanical drafting and engineering resources for projects, conduct analyses, prepare specifications and cost estimates, and oversee the progress of the Mechanical Building Systems Team.

In addition to possessing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program, you must have at least 15 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years specifically as Principal Mechanical Engineer. A Professional Engineering License (PE) is required for this role. Strong knowledge of design codes such as ASHRAE, ASME, ANSI, PIP, IBC, IMC is essential. Proficiency in HVAC and plumbing/piping materials along with software skills like Microsoft Office Suite and REVIT are preferred. Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead large projects while delegating tasks effectively are key qualities we seek.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Meet with Owners and Design-Build Contractors to glean mechanical functional and program requirements
  • Lead mechanical engineer for select projects; including supervising assigned mechanical drafting and engineering resources assigned to the Project
  • Prepare monthly reports for mechanical work
  • Overseeing and sealing mechanical building systems work
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of design codes (ASHRAE, ASME, ANSI, PIP, IBC, IMC)
  • Familiarity with HVAC and plumbing/piping materials and equipment preferred
  • Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Strong familiarity with REVIT (strongly preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
