Walker Lovell, a leading manufacturing organization in the United States, is seeking a talented Lead Maintenance & Engineering Manager to shape the future of their high-performing manufacturing site. As the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for building a stronger, smarter, and more proactive maintenance function within our organization.
In this role, you will lead, coach, and grow a cross-functional team consisting of 6 direct reports including PLC techs and a Process Engineer. You will have the opportunity to overhaul the preventative maintenance (PM) program and implement a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Additionally, you will own and deliver on capital projects ranging from $25K to $500K annually, totaling approximately $2M. Troubleshooting complex electromechanical issues and supporting PLC/automation systems will also be key responsibilities in this position. Collaboration with leadership on plant improvements and long-term strategy will be essential for success.
This opportunity offers a strong pathway to a future Plant Manager role, providing flexibility in approach for the right technical leader. You will have the chance to design and lead critical infrastructure projects from day one. The ideal candidate will have 7–10+ years of experience in maintenance, with at least 2 years in leadership roles. An engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field is required along with deep experience in troubleshooting, PM systems, and project management. Familiarity with CAD/SolidWorks and electromechanical systems is preferred. Experience with wire, steel, or paper manufacturing would be considered a bonus.
