As the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing various departments within the manufacturing facility, including engineering, materials, quality assurance/control, human resources, and information systems. Your primary focus will be on improving productivity and efficiency while ensuring that all operations align with the organization's objectives. You will set and manage the plant budget, directly leading the P&L for our Clearwater, FL site to consistently meet financial goals.
To excel in this role, you must have a four-year college degree in an engineering or metallurgy-related field, along with at least 7 years of experience in operations management or as a Manufacturing Engineer. Knowledge of manufacturing systems, quality control techniques, and industrial principles is essential. You should also possess strong leadership skills to define performance expectations for employees, coach them effectively, and maintain positive employee relations.
In addition to managing day-to-day operations at the plant site, you will be involved in evaluating new equipment and technologies for operational efficiencies. Your ability to lead interdisciplinary activities and solve complex problems will be crucial in driving continuous improvement initiatives. Effective communication skills are also necessary for interacting with internal teams as well as external customers and suppliers.
