**Job Title: Communications Director**
**About Sarcoma Foundation of America (SFA):**
Sarcoma Foundation of America (SFA) is the largest funder of private research in the sarcoma community, dedicated to raising awareness and advocating for increased research to find new therapies. Since 2000, SFA has invested over $14 million in research and provided funding for various grants and awards. We are seeking a motivated, creative, collaborative Communications Director to join our fast-paced team.
**Position Summary:**
The Communications Director will develop and lead a comprehensive marketing communications strategy to enhance SFA's visibility as the primary source of sarcoma information. Working closely with the CEO and senior staff, this role will guide all communications efforts to ensure consistent messaging across various platforms.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Develop, implement, and execute a comprehensive communications strategy.
- Enhance visibility through marketing campaigns and media outreach at national, state, and local levels.
- Maintain focus on organization's voice, visibility, and influence.
- Manage website content, social media platforms, design, and communications collateral.
- Establish relationships with national media outlets and key digital influencers.
- Oversee electronic communications programs including web-based interactive efforts.
- Collaborate with Development and Events teams on outreach strategies for fundraising initiatives.
**Supervisory Responsibilities:**
The Communications Director will supervise the Communications Manager.
**Qualifications and Requirements:**
- Bachelor’s degree required; ten or more years of strategic communications experience.
- Proven track record in developing proactive communication strategies.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading skills essential.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and analytics.
- Excellent organizational skills with superior project management abilities.
