Our client, a leading global technology company, is currently looking to hire an Incident & Crisis Communications Manager to join their dynamic team. This role is perfect for a strategic communicator who excels in managing high-profile incidents and protecting brand reputation. As part of a global, cross-functional team, you will be responsible for leading crisis communications, crafting clear messaging, and providing strategic guidance during critical incidents. Additionally, you will contribute to proactive materials such as customer communications, blog posts, and crisis communication playbooks. This senior communications contract role reports directly to the Head of Crisis Response, Marketing, and Communications and offers the flexibility of remote work from anywhere in Australia.

In this role, your key responsibilities will include leading and supporting crisis communications during incidents within the APAC timezone. You will collaborate with various teams such as Legal, Customer Support, Engineering, and regional teams to ensure that messaging is accurate, consistent, and customer-centric. It is essential that you provide after-hours availability during high-severity crisis events and work alongside global team members. Moreover, you will manage media engagement in collaboration with PR by responding to regional media inquiries with approved statements and shaping the narrative.

To be successful in this position, you should possess 10+ years of experience in corporate communications with a focus on crisis and reputation management for at least 5 years. A strong background in enterprise tech or SaaS is preferred (security experience is a plus). You must have exceptional written communication skills that allow you to translate complex technical details into clear messaging. Experience in media relations, working with technology journalists, managing media inquiries, expertise in reputation risk management and proactive communication strategies are also required. Strong collaboration skills within a highly distributed organization along with a proactive mindset focused on finding solutions are essential qualities for this role.
