Our company, a leading player in the food and beverage industry in the United Arab Emirates, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of our books of accounts, management reporting, internal policy compliance, audits, and controls.
The key responsibilities of this role include overseeing timely and accurate management reporting, assisting with monthly and quarterly reporting cycles, supporting audit processes, participating in budgeting activities, and ensuring tax compliance. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a deep understanding of UAE tax regulations, have experience in the international food and beverage industry, and demonstrate proficiency in managing financial transactions, reporting procedures, and compliance requirements.
To excel in this role, you must review and validate data processed during month-end closing procedures and recurring items. You will be responsible for ensuring that all journal entries adhere to IFRS standards before processing them. Additionally, you will prepare month-end account reconciliations for financial statement line accounts to ensure alignment between subsidiary ledger reports/account details and the General Ledger/Trial Balance. Providing explanations for key variances noted and preparing budget monitoring reports for management decision-making are also essential aspects of this position.
Furthermore, you will implement workflow management practices to document all payments and receipts with proper approvals and records. Leading the audit preparation process to facilitate timely sign-off on audited financial statements is another critical duty. You will supervise the evaluation of purchasing documents before processing them for LPOs to ensure budget compliance. Monitoring ageing reports from tenants and suppliers to support timely actions by management as well as overseeing the work of Cashiers are additional responsibilities that contribute to effective financial operations within our organization.
