Financial Controller – Bedfordshire – Up to £80,000 + car, bonus and benefits

We are delighted to be partnering with this well-established manufacturing and engineering business, who prides itself on delivering high quality products, whilst maintaining exceptional customer focus and a complete service offering to its client base across the UK.
The business is looking for a like-minded individual who can work collaboratively with their highly engaging leadership team, and who has a real “people focus” in both mentoring the finance team, as well as building relationships across the whole business.
You will have oversight of all aspects of financial and statutory control and management accounting for the business. You will oversee the preparation of accurate and meaningful management accounts, providing greater insight to business performance, potential opportunities and risks, as well as providing MI reporting to the management team. Stock management and analysis will also be a key element of this role, so previous experience within inventory and stock will be a must.
This role will be pivotal in leading financial audits and liaising with external banks, other providers and regulatory bodies, and will also keep a tight control over cashflow management and the transactional accounting processes.
This is definitely NOT just a number crunching role! You will be out there working with the wider business and operations teams at site, to provide better understanding and reporting from a financial perspective. You will have the opportunity to work on projects around processes and systems and there will be a continual need to look at better ways of working.
As with any medium sized business, there will be a need to be flexible in your approach and have great communication skills. Being passionate about delivering a high level of accuracy in your work is key to being successful in this role.
Key requirements:
· Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
· Experience within manufacturing/engineering sectors
· Stock management and control
· Proven experience in managing and motivating a team
· Excellent systems skills including advanced excel
· Business partnering capability to build relationships with non-finance functions
