Our client operating in Aviation sector are currently seeking a highly commercial Chief Financial Officer to lead its Finance, Treasury and Strategy function. The role will be reporting directly to the UK CEO of the business and provide real leadership and guidance to the wider Finance team. As travel demand continues to increase the business see an enhanced operating environment and has a desire to expand the business by running a full scale finance, strategy and treasury diagnostic to help assess future opportunities and the current state of the business.
Central to the CFO role will be to manage all the key decisions around the Finance, Strategy and Treasury function. In particular whilst the smooth running of the wider day to day Finance function is of core importance the business also places a key emphasis on driving the strategy of the business through insightful cash flow modelling & management reporting to help provide the executive team with clarity around decision making and funding decisions.
Furthermore it is anticipated that the business will be carrying out M&A activity and so therefore any successful candidate would need to be comfortable assessing mergers and acquisitions. In this role, relationships with other senior leaders of the business are crucial and so applicants will need to be highly skilled communicators and be comfortable working closely with third parties such as banks and financing partners.
Whilst aviation experience is desirable it is not essential, given the nature of the business any candidate operating within a leasing, large industrial / plant machinery, transportation, freight or shipping background could easily transfer relevant skills. Equally for highly commercial CFO’s outside of these industries we would welcome applications and the client keeps an open mind on the candidate that can move the business successfully forward.
