Director of Engineering and Product Development

Our client, a leading manufacturer in the rubber products industry, is seeking a Director of Engineering to join their team in Tennessee. As a key player in the Extruded Products Division, you will report directly to the Division President and oversee Global Engineering operations. Our company prides itself on developing innovative and cost-effective products that meet customer specifications while maintaining a strong commitment to quality and excellence.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of product and applications engineers, as well as chemists, to drive product development initiatives that align with our five-year revenue targets. You will play a crucial role in securing customer material approvals, overseeing design/validation testing processes, and collaborating closely with manufacturing teams to ensure cost-effective solutions that meet quality standards. Additionally, you will be tasked with managing department personnel, fostering talent growth, maintaining design standards, protecting proprietary information, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

The ideal candidate for this position will hold a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (Master's/MBA preferred) and have at least 7 years of experience in Engineering Management within the rubber extrusion and compounding industry. Strong knowledge of engineering principles, rubber chemistry, extrusion techniques, and product development lifecycle is essential for success in this role.
