As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a dynamic R&D Manager in Electrical Engineering to join our team in Fort Smith, AR.

As the R&D Manager, you will report directly to the Director of Research & Development and lead a team of 8-10 direct reports within our client’s Motors division. Your primary responsibilities will include serving as a technical resource and leader for the team, supporting the creation of technology and product roadmaps, and driving a culture of innovation. You will oversee project execution according to internal procedures and industry standards, ensuring high-quality results are delivered on time and within budget. Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as product management, sales, operations, and corporate research centers will be essential to deliver cost-competitive motor technologies that meet customer needs.

To excel in this role, you must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with at least 15 years of experience in electric motor design, including 5 years in management. Knowledge of advanced design methodologies (FEA), manufacturing processes, regulatory compliance (UL, CSA, IEEE, NEMA), and customer support is crucial. Preferred qualifications include PMP Certification, Lean Six Sigma Certification, as well as experience with Induction Motor and PM Motor technologies.

In return for your expertise and dedication, we offer a competitive compensation package ranging from $140,000 to $170,000 base salary plus an annual bonus target of up to 20%.
