Director of Engineering

The Director of Engineering will be responsible for leading new technology investigations and development to drive technical innovation for product differentiation and profitability. They will manage engineering processes and systems, direct personnel in formulating plans from concept phase to final customer approval, ensure products meet standards within budget and timelines, align with management teams on new initiatives, and solicit feedback from various departments to define quality standards. Additionally, this role requires setting clear goals for oneself and the team while driving high performance through effective leadership practices.

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (Master’s degree/MBA preferred), along with 5+ years of management experience in global businesses with technology-based products. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of experience developing technically complex products with expertise in electro-mechanical automation systems. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, flexibility, collaboration abilities, business acumen, emotional intelligence, executive disposition, and excellent communication skills are essential qualities required for this position.

• 5+ years management experience in a global business with technology-based products
• 10 years of experience developing technically complex products
• Experience in development of electro-mechanical automation systems highly desirable
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering required
• Master’s degree in engineering and/or MBA preferred
• Ability to travel up to 25 percent of the time (including international travel)
