We are looking for a Director of Engineering who will be responsible for reviewing, selecting, and implementing major equipment and process improvements to optimize production efficiencies, reduce CAPEX costs, enhance environmental stewardship, and support the manufacturing of new products. The ideal candidate will provide engineering leadership over the team while advising executive management on technological roadmaps and strategic goals. This role involves managing engineering personnel and setting SMART goals for individual growth within the company.

The Director of Engineering at Group14 will drive process and equipment improvements for battery materials manufacturing by overseeing plant engineers, process engineers, materials scientists, drafters, and modelers. They will lead capital projects associated with process development while ensuring safety design principles are followed throughout the engineering processes. Additionally, this role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that enhance production quality and efficiency. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering along with extensive experience in chemical manufacturing environments.

Key Job Requirements:
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in an industrial or pilot development environment

  • Experience in technology transfer leadership in an industrial setting
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with chemical manufacturing and related equipment
  • Capital projects management ($5 million)
