Our client, a leading player in the rubber products industry, is seeking a Director of Engineering to join their team in Tennessee. As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the Global Engineering division within the Extruded Products segment. Reporting directly to the Division President, you will lead a team of product and applications engineers, as well as chemists. The primary focus of this role is to drive the development of cost-effective and manufacturable products that align with customer specifications and project timelines while ensuring material approvals are secured and design/validation testing is conducted to support revenue objectives.

In this role, your key responsibilities will include directing global engineering teams to achieve stakeholder goals, driving product development initiatives to meet five-year revenue targets, ensuring timely customer material approvals and validation testing processes, collaborating closely with manufacturing teams to maintain cost and quality standards, managing department personnel while fostering talent growth within the team, and upholding design standards while safeguarding proprietary information and supporting compliance efforts.

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is preferred. Additionally, applicants should have at least 7 years of experience in Engineering Management, ideally within rubber extrusion and compounding sectors. A strong knowledge base in engineering principles, rubber chemistry, extrusion techniques, and product development lifecycle is essential for success in this role.
