Our client, a world leader in Titanium and Specialty Alloys based just outside of Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Director of Engineering to join their team. As a leading metal alloys manufacturer, our client values innovation and excellence in product development. The Director of Engineering will play a crucial role in providing technical leadership for continuous improvement, project management, and ensuring safety, quality, and manufacturing operations are optimized.
The ideal candidate for this role will be responsible for leading new product development initiatives while also enhancing existing products. Additionally, the Director of Engineering will oversee the implementation of manufacturing projects aimed at improving safety measures, quality standards, and streamlining processes. Collaboration with laboratory teams, quality organizations, and manufacturing teams will be key to success in this position. Furthermore, the successful candidate will lead lean manufacturing practices and other continuous improvement activities focused on reducing lead times and costs.
Key qualifications for this role include a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry. A Master’s degree or PhD in these fields would be advantageous. Candidates with prior experience in the metal alloys industry will be preferred due to the specialized nature of the work involved. An MBA is also preferred as it demonstrates a strong business acumen that complements technical expertise.
