We are currently seeking a dynamic Director of Business Development to spearhead our sales strategy and drive market expansion efforts within the west coast passenger rail industry. The ideal candidate will not only focus on selling products but also possess a deep understanding of client needs, public procurement processes, long-term partnership building, and contributing to the advancement of public transportation systems. In this role, you will take charge of policy and government relations at the state level with a primary focus on key states like California. Your responsibilities will include developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies to meet revenue targets, participating in customer meetings both internally and externally while overseeing action items diligently.

As the Director of Business Development at Stadler U.S., you will be responsible for conducting thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive dynamics within the passenger rail industry. You will maintain an accurate project pipeline in the Sales Database according to established processes while nurturing sales leads in your designated territory through relationship building and management practices. Key Job Requirements:
  • 10+ years of experience in business development in a leadership level
  • Experience in rail/rolling stock is required
  • Bachelor's Degree is required, Master's Degree is preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the local market from both a business and technical standpoint
