The Vice President of Engineering will be responsible for scaling and leading the engineering team through rapid growth. This individual must be familiar with JavaScript, Node.js, and MongoDB and have a strong track record of building and managing high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced startup environment. Key responsibilities include building and scaling engineering teams by recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top talent while maintaining a strong engineering culture. The VP will also provide strategic direction for the platform’s architecture to ensure scalability, security, and performance. Additionally, they will guide engineering teams in best practices for software development, CI/CD, and DevOps to ensure rapid yet reliable releases. Collaboration with Product, Design, and GTM teams is essential to align technical roadmaps with business objectives. Process optimization through establishing agile development processes is crucial to improving software delivery speed and quality.

The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Candidates located on the West Coast (PST) are preferred. Proven success in rapidly scaling engineering teams in a startup or high-growth environment is required along with an understanding of test automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps best practices. A track record of driving impactful technical decisions and architectural improvements is essential as well as excellent communication skills to influence executive teams and stakeholders.
