Job Title: Manufacturing Cost Controller - Contech Building Systems
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement robust cost control procedures and processes specific to manufacturing operations, ensuring adherence to approved budgets and financial plans.
Analyze manufacturing costs, including direct materials, labor, overheads, and other cost components, to identify potential deviations, variances, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production managers and procurement, to establish realistic manufacturing budgets and forecasts that align with business objectives.
Monitor and track manufacturing expenses, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with budgeted targets.
Prepare detailed cost reports, financial analyses, and forecasts, providing timely and accurate information to management and stakeholders.
Conduct variance analysis to identify cost drivers, recommend corrective actions, and optimize manufacturing costs while maintaining product quality and delivery timelines.
Evaluate vendor quotes, negotiate pricing, and analyze procurement costs to ensure cost competitiveness and support strategic sourcing decisions.
Work closely with production and engineering teams to evaluate manufacturing processes, identify opportunities for cost savings, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with the finance department to ensure proper accounting and cost allocation for manufacturing-related activities.
Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to manufacturing cost control, recommending and implementing process enhancements as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, industrial engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Cost Professional, Certified Management Accountant) are a plus.
Proven experience as a Cost Controller, Cost Accountant, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Solid understanding of manufacturing cost control principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Proficiency in using cost control software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data, identify cost drivers, and propose solutions.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and proactively, taking ownership of cost control initiatives and driving results.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
