As the IBA Reinsurance Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations within our reinsurance department. Your responsibilities will include overall financial management of the reinsurance function, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and monitoring financial performance to ensure adherence to goals and targets. You will provide daily supervision to the reinsurance finance team, set key performance indicators (KPIs), establish job roles and responsibilities, and offer guidance and support to team members to create a high-performance work environment.
In addition to hands-on support for complex financial tasks and issue resolution when needed, you will be responsible for generating and analyzing financial reports. These reports will include year-over-year analysis, results-to-budget comparisons, aging reports, and strategic reports. Your insights and recommendations based on this analysis will support decision-making for leadership. Collaborating closely with senior leaders like the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will contribute to strategic initiatives by providing financial insights and assisting in the preparation of high-level strategic reports. Building strong relationships with top cedants (primary insurers) and reinsurers is also vital in this role.
Lockton Inc. is looking for candidates with a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field; a master's degree or professional certifications such as CFA or CPA are preferred. Experience in the reinsurance industry is essential for this position along with knowledge of reinsurance principles, contracts, and regulations. The ideal candidate should possess strong financial analysis skills including experience in preparing financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis; proficiency in interpreting financial data; identifying trends; providing insightful recommendations to senior management; process improvement expertise; relationship building skills; excellent communication abilities; attention to detail; problem-solving skills; ability to work under pressure.
