Director of Electrical Engineering

As the Director of Electrical Engineering, you will be responsible for leading and managing our Avionics and Electronics team at our on-site location in Houghton, Michigan. Your primary duties will include overseeing the avionics team, providing technical direction to address production and design challenges efficiently, creating engineering resource plans, establishing budgets and schedules for projects, and mentoring junior engineers to drive continuous improvements in production systems.

The ideal candidate for this role should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, along with at least 10 years of experience in developing complex electronic products. Additionally, you should have a minimum of 6 years of team management experience and be well-versed in EEE parts selection and supply chain considerations. Travel may be required up to 25% of the time within close proximity to Houghton. Preferred qualifications include experience with electronics contract manufacturers, knowledge of electronic manufacturing processes such as pick-and-place and solder reflow techniques, familiarity with space electronics design, radiation tolerance testing, and power electronics.
