Our company, a leading player in the Oil & Gas industry, is seeking a Financial Business Controller to join our team in the United Arab Emirates. As a key Finance Business Partner to the General Manager, you will drive financial governance aligned with our company standards. Your role will involve supporting revenue-generating activities, optimizing costs, enhancing cash flow, and providing actionable financial insights for strategic alignment and operational excellence. Additionally, you will play a vital role in maximizing efficiency by leveraging economies of scale between Operating Units and group companies.
Responsibilities include coordinating with Finance Shared Services to ensure appropriate accounting transaction services are delivered according to agreed Service Level Agreements. You will prepare annual audited financial statements in line with Group Accounting Standards and work closely with external auditors. Collaborating with Group Accounting and Treasury for funding compliance and providing strategic input into business plans are also key aspects of this role. Furthermore, you will be responsible for financial forecasting, performance reporting, internal controls implementation, corrective actions for adverse performance, investment appraisal reviews, cost management within budgets, supply chain advice on inventory levels and project management involvement.
The ideal candidate should have expertise in ERP Oracle and MS Office along with knowledge of reporting tools like Power BI or Hyperion. Strong presentation skills and experience working collaboratively at all levels are essential. Proficiency in financial planning and strategy, analytical skills, process improvement techniques, decision-making abilities, strategic planning methodologies, quality management practices as well as compelling communication skills are required. A minimum of 10 years' experience in finance roles including 8 years post qualification experience is necessary; preferably 5 years in a supervisory role. Experience in the Oil & Gas/Energy industry or related sectors such as petrochemicals/chemicals is highly valued.
