Head of Technology & Engineering

Ascent People Ltd, a well-established company with a global network of strategically placed offices and sites, is seeking an experienced Head of Technology & Engineering to join their team in Liverpool. This role will require onsite office work for a minimum of 4 days a week. The Head of Technology & Engineering will be responsible for overseeing software engineering, in-house development management, and global infrastructure. Working closely with the Head of Strategy & Governance, Head of Service Delivery, and Head of Security, the successful candidate will report directly to the Group Head of IT. The primary focus of this role will be on aligning technology vision with business strategy by integrating company processes with appropriate technologies.

Key responsibilities include participating in governance processes related to architecture, networks, programming, media, and desktops; leading strategic technological planning to achieve business goals; assessing risks associated with technology investments; defining requirements for new technology implementations; providing overall direction for IT architecture; conducting research on industry trends and emerging technologies; supervising recruitment and retention of technical staff; ensuring continuous delivery of technical services through oversight of service level agreements.

The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience managing technological operations and influencing senior-level management. They should possess proven leadership abilities, excellent communication skills (both written and oral), strong tactical skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the ability to motivate teams in a collaborative environment. Experience in modern development practices in an agile environment is required.
